On Tuesday, April 24, two of Adaptive Tech’s consultants travelled up to San Jose for the MarTech conference, one of the leading events in the marketing software industry.
Lindsey Walter and Chris Keuch made the 450+ mile trip up from our Solana Beach office to gather trends, predictions and insights from industry leaders.
We caught up with Lindsey upon her return to the office – here’s some of her highlights from the two days spent at the conference.
“We arrived to register at the San Jose Convention Centre at 9am on Tuesday morning, ready for the showroom opening at 10.30am. The conference agenda had some great speakers, as in previous years offering a good balance between tech buyers and software vendors – in addition to hearing from the development side of the market, the event always offers fresh perspectives on the challenges faced by CMOs across the corporate landscape.
I attended the first two presentations in the Discover MarTech Theatre; ‘The Right Way to Buy Marketing Technology’ by the Real Story Group, and ‘Solving the Sales and Marketing Alignment Challenge’, presented by LeanData – two highly insightful sessions.
Following this we popped into a solutions presentation on the industrialization of analytics, lead by Dejan Duzevik from Concentric. This was a particularly interesting session, as Dejan addressed how Concentric’s solution can complete statistical and predictive work which would usually take months in just a few minutes – outlining the strides technology is taking in the industry.
A highlight of ours was stopping by the True Influence booth during the ‘Networking Reception’, sponsored by Simple. True Influence set up a trivia game that was accessible on mobile phones. Whoever could answer the 15 questions correct and fastest won a Google Home Mini. Unfortunately, for me, there was no prize for 3rd place…
After a busy first day, and with meetings slotted into every available coffee break, we focused Wednesday on the 11am presentation (The Future of MarTech: Clouds, AI, Connectivity and Massive Organizational Issues) by Merkle. Other Morning session included presentations by Pantheon, Lytics, Pega, Turtl, Tealium and Datorama.
As always, MarTech West 2018 was a fantastic event, packed full of insightful companies and market leaders – if you were unable to attend this year, I hope to see you there next year!”
